Corona Virus: Message from Ambassador Nicolaj Petersen:

Dear Danes and relatives in Uganda, DRC, Rwanda, Burundi and Madagascar

The Embassy is following the situation concerning Corona virus very closely. Very wide-ranging measures are being taken in Denmark to limit the spread of Corona in Denmark – Please keep yourself up-dated. The Embassy in Kampala is conducting its business as normal.

The Embassy are daily updating travel advice for Uganda, which can be found on Facebook and our website and on twitter – see link to homepage:
https://uganda.um.dk/~/link.aspx….

We are also updating homepages for the side accredited countries see link: https://rwanda.um.dk/, https://drcongo.um.dk/, https://burundi.um.dk/, https://madagaskar.um.dk/. This information is in Danish only

In Burundi it has just been announced that all travellers from Europe to Burundi will be put in self-quarantine as reflected in our homepage for Burundi.

However, for the side accredited countries we have no Embassies so we do have the same level of information as in Uganda. Therefore we ask you to seek local advices for instance from the homepages of the Ministries of Health and/or call the Embassy here in Kampala for advice.

There are still no reported cases of Corona in Uganda. One case has been registered in DRC.

For Uganda you can find useful links to press releases from the Ministry of Health. This gives a good update on the situation in Uganda and useful information on what you should do as preventive measures. It also gives advice in case of self-quarantine and what to do if you believe you have symptoms of Corona. There is also information from WHO relevant for all countries.

Best wishes
Nicolaj Petersen, Ambassador
